Broodwitch

The Broodwitch is the matriarch of the goblins on Glutton's Farmstead, and the boss of the farm. She has made the Cottage her den and does not leave it: the raiding parties outside answer to her, and the portal to the Gravesands stays sealed for as long as she lives.

Behavior

She fights at whatever distance you give her. From across the room she flings clouds of poison that drift toward you and burst on contact, leaving a poison that keeps eating at you after the cloud is gone. Step in close and she stops casting and lunges, jabbing with the gnarled wand she carries.

The clouds drift slowly enough to step around, and each is a long cast with a clear wind-up, the wand raised high before it is flung. The lunge comes with less warning, and it carries her forward.

Location

• The Cottage: She waits inside the cottage on the western edge of Glutton's Farmstead, and is on you the moment you come through the door.

Strategy

• Decide your distance and keep it. Standing at a middling range invites both attacks; either press in and take the lunges, or stay back and step out of the clouds.
• Watch for the raised wand. A cloud is slow once loosed and the wind-up is long, so a sidestep as it leaves her hand carries you clear.
• Poison keeps hurting after the hit. Back off and let it run out rather than trading blows while it ticks.
• She is the way onward: the portal to the Gravesands opens only once she is dead.
